Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Welcome to the website (“the Site”) of The Israel Export Institute and International Cooperation (“the Institute” or “Export Institute”). Use of the Site, the content contained therein, and the services offered through it is subject to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy detailed below (“Terms of Use”), as well as to additional provisions of the Institute as indicated on the Site.

Use of masculine language is for convenience only, and these Terms of Use apply to all genders.

These Terms define the relationship between the Institute and anyone on its behalf, and any person (“User” or “you”) who uses the Site and/or the services offered by the Institute on the Site (“the Services”). If you do not agree to the Terms of Use and/or the Privacy Policy contained therein, in whole or in part, you are not permitted to use the Site and/or the Services for any purpose.

The Site provides information and content related to the Institute’s activities, and also enables registration and membership in the Export Institute, registration for international exhibitions, and registration for courses, workshops, seminars, and more offered through the Site as part of the Export, Import and International Trade Studies Center (“the Export Studies Center”) managed by the Export Institute.


Intellectual Property of the Institute

All information and/or content and/or images appearing on the Site, including texts, graphics, design, trademarks, logos, and the like, including their arrangement and presentation on the Site, are the exclusive property of the Institute.

You undertake not to copy, publish, reproduce, modify, download, publicly display, process, reverse engineer, create derivative works, sell, lease, distribute, transmit, print, create databases from the content appearing on the Site, modify or transfer to any third party any part of the Site, its content and services, or otherwise infringe the Institute’s rights, including its intellectual property rights in the Site and its content.


Prohibited Uses

You undertake to use the Site fairly and reasonably and not to perform any action that harms the Site and/or other users and their ability to use the Site and Services. Without derogating from the above, you undertake not to:

  • Transmit any type of computer code or virus designed to destroy, interfere with, disrupt, or limit the use of the Site.

  • Operate any application or other means to search, scan, copy, or automatically retrieve content from the Site. This includes not creating or using such means to create a collection, compilation, or database containing content from the Site.

  • Infringe in any way the rights of third parties, including privacy rights, intellectual property rights, or any other rights.

  • Display content from the Site in any way, including by using any software, device, accessory, or communication protocol that alters the Site’s design or removes any content from it, including commercial or advertising content.


Limitation of Liability

Use of the Site and any activity on it is the sole and full responsibility of the User. The Site and the content made available to the public through it are provided “as is” and without any warranty of any kind. Any use of the Site or reliance on the content or services offered therein shall therefore be at the User’s sole responsibility.

The Institute shall not be liable to you or any third party for any damage, loss, or harm of any kind in connection with the Site and/or its content and/or the services offered therein, or in connection with any action taken by you following or in connection with the Site. Among other things, the Institute shall not be liable for damages arising from interruptions, outages, failures, malfunctions, or faults in the Site and/or Services.


Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Please read this policy carefully and ensure that you agree to it. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you must cease any use of the Export Institute’s Site and refrain from providing us with personal information.

You are not legally required to provide us with any personal information. Providing personal information is subject to your consent and free will.

Our Services are intended for users over the age of 18. Minors under this age are not permitted to register for or use the Services.

You have the right to review the personal information processed about you by the Institute. You may request to review such information and, in certain circumstances, request to amend or delete it, as detailed below.

We do not sell personal information about our users to third parties. We transfer personal information to third parties only as part of providing Services to our users, or in limited circumstances detailed below.

1. Information We Collect

To use certain services on the Site or to contact the Institute, you are required to provide certain personally identifiable information, such as your full name, company, position, email address, phone number, and more. This is information you provide knowingly and with consent.

If you wish to register for certain activities (e.g., membership in the Export Institute, courses, workshops, seminars), you may be required to provide additional personal details, such as payment information including bank account details and information required for direct debit forms. Without providing such information, you will not be able to register for certain activities.

We collect technical data such as IP address, device model, operating system, and other technical data identifying the device used. We also collect anonymous statistical data regarding use of the Site and Services (e.g., user behavior, pages viewed, social sharing). We may use third-party services such as Google Analytics for this purpose. This information does not personally identify you.

If you subscribe to communications (e.g., newsletters), we collect the information you provide during registration.

We do not knowingly collect or process sensitive personal information (e.g., religion, health, etc.). If you believe such data was provided to us by mistake, please notify us immediately.

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect statistical data. You may block cookies via your browser, but doing so may limit the Services.


2. Use of Information

We use collected information in accordance with this policy and applicable law, including for:

  • Enabling use of the Site and improving user experience

  • Operating, developing, and improving the Site and Services

  • Detecting and preventing viruses, fraud, or violations

  • Managing registrations and activities (courses, exhibitions, etc.)

  • Sending communications if you subscribed

  • Any other purpose detailed in this policy


3. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We may share statistical, non-identifiable data with third parties.

We may also share personal data in the following cases:

  • If required by a court order

  • To prevent serious harm

  • In case of violation of Terms or unlawful actions

  • In legal disputes


4. Data Security

The Institute implements standard security measures to protect data. However, these do not guarantee absolute security, and the Institute does not guarantee complete immunity from unauthorized access.


5. Marketing Communications

If you subscribe, we will send updates about activities, exhibitions, courses, etc. You consent to receiving such emails. You may unsubscribe at any time via the email or by contacting: amitp@export.gov.il

Social Media – The Site allows sharing via social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.). Such use may be subject to their policies.

Data Retention – Personal data is retained as needed for the purposes described, legal compliance, and service improvement. Anonymous data may be retained indefinitely.

Miscellaneous

The Institute may assign or transfer its rights under these Terms.

Use of the Site is governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Exclusive jurisdiction is the competent courts in Tel Aviv–Jaffa.

The Terms may be updated at any time without prior notice. The Institute may also modify or discontinue Services at any time.

If any provision is found invalid, it will be replaced with a valid one reflecting the original intent, while the rest remain in force.
